13, 2003 NEVERLIFT takes another win and clinches Etown UQ8
Points Championship: |
Neverlift
racecars took the top 3 spots in qualifying, this
past sunday, with shop owner Leo Barnaby taking the
top spot with a record MPH run of 7.540 @188.04. Followed
closely by Dave Erb's 7.56 and Brian Ferrari's 7.58.
Leo marched through eliminations like a bracket car
running 7.54's until the final when he ran 7.57 to
defeat Erb's redlight 7.63.
The Etown UQ8 point championship is all Leo's as long
as he shows up for the last race and gains 1 point
for attempting to qualify. This will give him the
championship and his second Wally trophy.......Congratulations
to Leo and all the Neverlift Team as well as all the
Neverlift prepared cars this year!
John
Schroeder's Neverlift built racecar won the Orlando
Heavy street class with a 7.52 in the final... congratulations
to John and his team.

5 & 6, 2003 Neverlift and Nase
team up to qualify at Etown Sport Compact Race : |
|

|
Since
teaming up a couple months ago the team has improved
enough to qualify at this past weekends NHRA Sport Compact
Race. Neverlift shop owner Leo Barnaby III temporarily
took the drivers duties for this race until Don Nase
Jr. completes his licensing.
|
|
Since
Leo was hired as crew chief, the team has made great
strides in it's quest for a Pro Rear Wheel Drive class
win. Qualifying in the 7th spot this past weekend with
a 7.77 163 charge showed that they can run with the
best of the class. Unfortunatly a slick track cost them
the first round even though Leo had a holeshot start.
Overall the team was delighted to have qualified and
after learning alot this past weekend they will make
the changes needed to go even faster! The truck currently
runs a single turbocharged 4 cylinder Ford engine. Leo
would like to thank Don Nase Sr.(team owner) for the
ability to work for him and the chance to drive the
Ford Ranger this weekend. And thanks to the crew: Don
Nase Jr., Russ Turner, Wayne Keegan, Rob Marchese, Bobby,
and the Nase women Cathy and Mary Beth
|
| The
guys at Neverlift would also like to congratulate Jack
Boer and thier team for a runner up finish in this weekends
PRO Race in Memphis Tennessee. Jack was able to lay down
consistant 7.70s during the weekend. |

Congratulations
to Neverlift customer Von Kincannon who won the King
of Columbus race last week running a string of 7.50's

June
8, 2003 Jim Sellers Memorial Cecil County NMCA Race :
Team Neverlift Dominates, again!! |
|
|
Shop
owner Leo Barnaby ran a blistering 7.24 @191.97 in the
second round of eliminations to defeat Richard Mobley
in a special Outlaw 10.5 race run in conjunction with
the NMCA race. He also qualified #1 in Super Street with
a 7.48 @189.92 and #1 in Outlaw 10.5 with a 7.44 @ 187.89.
Leo was able to make it to the finals but sacrificed the
engine on the earlier 7.24 run so we took runner up in
both races outlaw 10.5 and superstreet.(7.24 slip is attached) |
Here's
how some of the Neverlift cars did:
-John
Schroeder qualified #1 in NPS with 7.53, but lost in the semi's
due to a broken rocker stud.
-Brian Ferrari qualified #3 with a 7.55 and lost to John Schroeder
in the second round
-Dave Erb qualified with a 7.57 and lost first round by going
too fast with a 7.44
-Roger Rabbit qualified with a 7.59 and lost in the semi's
-Jim MacKenzie honored Jim Sellers at the Jim Sellers Memorial
NMCA Race by reseting the Pro Nostalgia record to 8.85 and
qualified #1. He went on to win the race!
-Frank Lupi won his first NMCA round of competition and qualified
with a 9.24
It looks
like Neverlift customer Jack Boer/Jimmy McLean made the right
call and went to the Bowling Green Pro Race and did very well
garnering #2 qualifying spot then going on to runner up spot
in NPS

25, 2003 Raindate for Etown's Ultra Quick 8:
Another Quick 8 Dominated by Neverlift Cars!! |
|
Neverlift
WOW'S them again!
With the top 3 qualifiers plus the #7 qualifier. Neverlift
cars take 4 of 8 spots on the UQ8 ladder this past weekend.
Unfortunately the race was washed out by rain to be completed
at an unknown date. Leo match-raced John Schroeder on both
qualifying attempts for the wallet busting amount of $2.00,
with John winning the first by 10 thousandths and the second
double or nothing race going to Leo by 25 thousandths, netting
him a $4 payday...thanxs John!
1.
Barnaby 7.474 186.3 1.16 60'
2. Schroeder 7.479 184.37
1.14 60'
3. Ferrari 7.527 179.54 1.15 60'
7. Boer 7.707 182.7 1.14
60'
If
we could only get Neverlift customer Dave Erb to show up we
would have more competition... Also look for Bob Finkelstein's
S10 to hit the scene soon with a new and higher hp powerplant.

Neverlift Cars Continue To Dominate
the Class!! |
|
|
Shop
owner Leo Barnaby drove his 1992 Camaro to the #1 qualifier
position with a 7.54 at 185mph. The shop Camaro was using

John Schroeder #2 7.61 180.12
Brian Ferrari #4 7.70 177.32
Jack #8 7.83 175.57
John
Schroeder won after Leo's shop Camaro suffered a broken trans
in the finals... Apparently he turned up the power too much....
However the Neverlift shop Camaro runs consistent 750's at
185 with 1.16 60 foot times
Jack Boer/Jimmy McLean's Chevy Monte Carlo did very well for
its first shake down runs after neverlift upgraded the chassis
and suspension to 25.2 specs with a 1.15 60 foot time look
for more out of them
