When
Neverlift Motorsports opened almost five years ago, it's
owner Leo Barnaby III was already well into the chassis/racecar
business. Leo built many cars including a backhalf Firebird
in his garage in the mid 90's that ran as fast as 7.80.
Leo was involved in the Fastest Street Car Shootout events
since it's infancy. After working on many other racecars,
Leo left his job as a master technician/dealership foreman
to fabricate racecars full-time. He hired David Krouse,
a professional chassis fabricator for more than 30 years,
who has worked all over the country for various racecar
constructors. Dave brought a lot of experience with him
including the fact he used to "hang out" at Don
Ness Racecraft. Neverlift Motorsports is run by Leo. The
focus is on ingenuity, safety, and a state of the art racecar.
Neverlift's "claim to fame" is the 25.1-25.2 backhalf
car, which is basically a "pro car" in construction
that utilizes a stock type front suspension for use in NMCA/
Etown UQ8. Leo and Dave were one of the first in the area,
if not the nation, to build these type of cars. They felt
the need for safer cars due to the amount of fatalities
and injuries over the past years.
Some great examples of this type of car is two time Ultra
Quick 8 champion Brian Ferrari's Chevelle, Bob Finkelstein's
S10, Dave Erbs Camaro, Neverlift's shop Camaro now
owned by John Schroeder, the Jack Boer/Jimmy McLean Monte,
among countless others. Neverlift has also been busy with
the import racecars. Doing projects like a full tube chassis
BMW, the worlds quickest Nissan Sentra, and many VW
and Honda roll bars and suspension upgrades. Besides the
great products, Neverlift offers some incredible services.
You can bring your racecar there, and for a small fee they
will scale your car, do a full safety inspection and make
suggestions to optimize your combination. Neverlift's services
do not end at the door of the shop. They can always be seen
at the track helping their customers. Leo would like to
thank those that helped to make Neverlift a prominent local
business. They include his employees, Steve Cohen, Rob Marchese,
Bob Carroll, his family and girlfriend, and especially his
customers. If you have any further questions, please feel
free to contact Neverlift Motorports, Inc. at 732-416-9887.
They are located at: 8 American Way, Spotswood, NJ 08884.
